Working with Portable Document Format (.pdf) Materials

Overview

The purpose of providing materials in .pdf format is to allow view of those materials across the wide range and combinations of computer software and hardware environments users may have. The information appears in the same style as the original creation, e.g., format and graphics.

If you wish to save the information directly to your computer or if your Internet browser version or other computer set up inhibits using a .pdf via the browser, you can solve this by saving and viewing the .pdf file directly on your computer.

Save and View Instructions

• Use the right mouse button to click the .pdf file link
• Select the Save Link As (or similar option)
• In the Save As dialog box, specify a location on your computer of the .pdf file.
• Click Save
• Go to the file location and double-click the file
• the Adobe Acrobat Reader will open with the document. You can find and download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader from the Adobe Acrobat site.
