ADP Code Selection - Business Background

ADP Code Selection is used to find the appropriate Automated Data Processing (ADP) code for processing an FHA-insured home mortgage. The ADP code identifies the following:

• Insuring section of the National Housing Act
  
  
• FHA insurance fund
  
  
• Whether upfront mortgage insurance premium is required
  
• Whether there is an assistance payment contract

Only ADP codes with a status of Active should be used for the origination of new loans. ADP codes with a status of Deleted are historical codes that are no longer used for new loans. However, the historical (Deleted) codes may still be in use for older loans currently being serviced.
