The FHA's Qualified Opportunity Zone (QOZ) program is a result of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 and was designed to encourage development in some of the nation's most economically distressed geographic areas. The QOZ locations are based on census tract data maintained by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
