Case Type Notifications
 

 

When Appraisal Logging Update is accessed and populated with appraisal information submitted (or resubmitted) via the EAD portal, one of the following messages concerning case type may be displayed:

 
 
Note: Screen loaded from EAD. Confirm the data by pressing "Send" button at the bottom of the screen.
(Message affirming that the case type in CHUMS and the electronic appraisal match; no case type resolution is required. Press the Send button to save the electronic appraisal information to CHUMS.)
 
 
Note: Screen loaded from EAD. Complete fields in HECM Information section and confirm the data by pressing "Send" button at bottom of the screen.
(Message affirming the case type is HECM and advising that additional HECM case information is required. Complete the HECM Information page section and press the Send button to save the entered information to CHUMS.)
 
 
Warning: EAD indicates Purchase; CHUMS indicates Refinance; Case is treated as a Refinance.
(Message indicating that the case type in CHUMS is a refinance but the electronic appraisal indicates the case is a purchase. Case type resolution is required.)

(Message indicating that the case type in CHUMS is a purchase but the electronic appraisal indicates the case is a refinance. Case type resolution is required.)
 
 

To resolve one of the two case warnings listed above, you must correct the case type in the appropriate system--correct/resubmit the case type in the electronic appraisal using the EAD portal or Case Number Assignment Update on the FHA Connection to correct the information in CHUMS.
