Case Type Notifications

When Appraisal Logging Update is accessed and populated with appraisal information submitted (or resubmitted) via the EAD portal, one of the following messages concerning case type may be displayed:

Screen loaded from EAD/Electronic Appraisal Data
(Message affirming that the case type in CHUMS and the electronic appraisal match; no case type resolution required.)

Warning: Screen loaded from EAD. EAD indicates Purchase - Ignored
(Message indicating that the case type in CHUMS is a refinance but the electronic appraisal indicates the case is a purchase. Case type resolution is required.)

Warning: Screen loaded from EAD. EAD indicates Refinance - Ignored
(Message indicating that the case type in CHUMS is a purchase but the electronic appraisal indicates the case is a refinance. Case type resolution is required.)

To resolve one of the two case warnings listed above, you must correct the case type in the appropriate system--correct/resubmit the case type in the electronic appraisal using the EAD portal, or Case Number Assignment Update on the FHA Connection to correct the information in CHUMS.
