Use Case/Appraisal Transfer to update the sponsor or agent for the current originator of a nonendorsed case. (See Site Map: Case Processing.) Only the current originating lender, sponsor, or agent on record in HUD's origination system can perform this change. However, if a sponsor is not on record for a case but remits the upfront mortgage insurance premium (MIP), the remitting sponsor can transfer the case to one of its branches as the new sponsor. The new sponsor/agent must be an FHA-approved lender authorized for the type of FHA case and authorized to originate loans in the geographical location of the property.
