Borrower Validation Checks
 

 

All FHA cases are subject to borrower validation when a new case number is requested through Case Number Assignment and again when/if borrower information is updated using Borrower/Address Change or Insurance Application (or HECM Insurance Application). A Warning message indicates that the borrower information must be validated.

 
 
Error Message:  Borrower information did not pass initial validation
 
 

An overnight validation process with the Social Security Administration (SSA) verifies the identification combination of name, date of birth, and Social Security Number for each borrower, coborrower, and non-borrowing spouse provided with the case information. This overnight validation does not put a case on hold (i.e., processing may continue). However, Holds Tracking is used to determine the results of the overnight validation on the next business day.
