Electronic Submissions
 

  HUD provides the following two methods for submitting case binders electronically:  
 
MISMO: Scan the closing package documentation and produce an XML file using the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization's (MISMO) ePackage SmartDoc standard. The standards for the eCB and the test site for transmittals are included in the Electronic Case Binder Developer's Guide located on HUD's Homes and Communities website at: https://www.hud.gov/pub/chums/electronicCaseBinder.pdf. The Guide also contains instructions on the indexing requirements for the documents included in the eCB.  
 

Upload: Use FHA Connection Case Binder Upload (on the Case Processing menu) to upload a (a) Portable Document Format (PDF) file containing the entire closing package and (b) separate PDF file containing just the appraisal and contract documentation. Note: This is used by lenders participating in the LI Forward program only.
