System Detects Severe Case Warning

When an authorized LI lender employee attempts to endorse a case, the system checks for conditions that constitute a severe (i.e., risk-related) case warning. A severe case warning includes any of the following conditions:

Borrower(s) failed Social Security Number validation

A record was found in CAIVRS for the borrower(s) (i.e., Credit Alert Sanction)

An LI deficiency exists
LI lenders are required to submit a case binder when a severe case warning is issued for the case. If a severe case warning is detected, the binder is requested and messages appear on the Insurance Application Update page.

Note: A message is also displayed on this page when the binder is received by the HOC.
