Borrower Validation on an Existing Case

Overnight borrower validation takes place each time borrower information is updated on an existing case. Depending on the results of the validation(s), the case may not be endorsed without HOC intervention.

If an existing case passes borrower validation, the case is not included in Holds Tracking. Use Case Query or Case Number Assignment to further verify the status of a case not listed in Holds Tracking.

Held Cases: (1) Borrower Validation Complete; case number assigned and (2)Failed Borrower Validation; case number assigned

Failed Borrower Validation status in Holds Tracking (with Case Number Asgnd - YES) indicates overnight borrower validation failed.

Select the case to link to the Case Number Assignment Results page. Take notice of the error(s) in the Borrower Information section.

To resubmit for validation, use Borrower/Address Change to make necessary changes. Check Holds Tracking again within the next two business days. When successfully validated, case processing may continue as usual.
  or,
If borrower information is correct based on your records, case processing can continue without validation but the case cannot be endorsed. Submit supporting documentation with the case binder that verifies the borrower identification (contact the FHA Resource Center at 800-CALLFHA (800-225-5342) for assistance). The case cannot be endorsed for FHA insurance without Homeownership Center (HOC) acknowledgment of the warning.
