CAIVRS User Registration for Employees of
Participating CAIVRS Federal Agencies
Processing

Complete and submit the CAIVRS User Registration for Non-HUD Federal Government Employees form as follows:
  1. From the drop-down list in the Select Agency/Program field, select the Federal agency participating in CAIVRS that employs you.

  2. Type your name and Social Security Number in the fields provided.

  3. Type an 8-character password in the Password field. The password is case sensitive and must include at least one uppercase letter, one number, and one special character (e.g., !@#$^&*%). Here is an example: Me#1User.

  4. Type the new password again in the Re-enter Password field.

    Note: The password will not be disclosed, so make sure you remember it.

  5. Type your telephone number in the boxes provided in the Phone Number field.

  6. Type your business e-mail address in the Email field.

  7. Type the name of the Federal agency that employs you in the Organization Name field.

  8. Type the last name of your mother, before marriage, in the Mother's Maiden Name field.

  9. Click Send Application. Continue to Reviewing Processing Results.

Reviewing Processing Results

After clicking Send Application on the CAIVRS User Registration for Non-HUD Federal Government Employees form, you are notified if processing was successfully completed or if there are errors that need to be corrected before processing can be completed.

Processing Was Successful

If there are no errors, the CAIVRS User Registration Results page appears. A Message field at the top of the page states: CAIVRS User Registration Accepted for Further Processing.

Processing Was Unsuccessful

If there is an error, one of the following occurs:
An error message box appears. Click OK to clear the message. Make the correction and process again.
The CAIVRS User Registration Results page appears. A Message field at the top of the page states: CAIVRS User Registration Not Processed Due to Error(s). An Error(s) Detected field at the bottom of the page explains the error(s). Click Previous to return to the CAIVRS User Registration for Non-HUD Federal Government Employees form and make the correction(s). Information in the Password and Reenter Password fields must be reentered as well.
