The field descriptions for the FHA Mortgage Limits List (FHA Forward, FHA HECM, or Fannie/Freddie) page are listed below in the order they appear on the page:

Field Description
MSA Name Name and type of the Core Based Statistical Area (CBSA):
Metro: Large urban area with metropolitan divisions
Micro: Micropolitan Statistical Area (Micro)
MSA: Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA)
Non-metro: Non-urban area
MSA Code Five-digit Core Based Statistical Area (CBSA) code assigned to the Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), Micropolitan Statistical Area (Micro), or Metropolitan Division. A non-urban area is designated as 99999.
Division Five-digit Metropolitan Division code assigned to the large urban area.
County Name Name of the county for which the mortgage limit information is effective.
County Code Three-digit Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) code identifying the county for which the mortgage limit information is effective.
State Name of the state for which the mortgage limit information is effective.
One-Family Loan amount established as the limit for an FHA-insured loan (or Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac limit on a conventional loan amount) for a one-family home/unit.
Two-Family Loan amount established as the limit for an FHA-insured loan (or Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac limit on a conventional loan amount) for a two-family home/unit. Not applicable for HECM loans.
Three-Family Loan amount established as the limit for an FHA-insured loan (or Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac limit on a conventional loan amount) for a three-family home/unit. Not applicable for HECM loans.
Four-Family Loan amount established as the limit for an FHA-insured loan (or Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac limit on a conventional loan amount) for a four-family home/unit. Not applicable for HECM loans.
Median Sale Price Median contract sales price of the properties sold that are located in the Metropolitan or Micropolitan Statistical Area during the indicated calendar year. If the county is not in either a Metropolitan or Micropolitan Statistical Area, it is the median sales price for the county.
Last Revised Month, day, and year the listed mortgage limit changed. Each county is evaluated annually to determine if a mortgage limit change is necessary.
Limit Year

Calendar year, e.g., CY2009, for which the mortgage limits information is effective.

The 2009 calendar year mortgage limits were established in Mortgagee Letter 2009-07, dated February 24, 2009. These mortgage limits override the prior loan limits stated in Mortgagee Letters 2008-35 and 2008-36.
