HECM Insurance Application - Messages


Some of the messages that may appear when processing HECM Insurance Application are explained below.

             WARNING

Case Warning: Pending Borrower Validation

Borrower identification information that was previously added or corrected is being validated against government records. The next business day, use Holds Tracking on the Case Number Assignment menu to determine if borrower(s) passed or failed validation. If further processing of the case is necessary, select Other Functions near the top of the Insurance Application Results page and make a selection from the drop-down list.

             WARNING

All Borrowers Passed SSN Validation - Name, SSN or DOB Changes Will Revalidate

The name, Social Security Number (SSN), and date of birth (DOB) combination of each borrower passed validation against government records. If the name, Social Security Number, and/or date of birth are changed for a borrower via HECM Insurance Application, the borrower is subject to revalidation. If further processing of the case is necessary, select Other Functions near the top of the page and make a selection from the drop-down list.

             WARNING
Borrower Validation Failed for Borrower(s): #n
The name, Social Security Number, and birth date combination of one or more borrowers failed validation against government records. The sequential number of the borrower that failed is provided (e.g., #2 for the second borrower listed). The case is placed on the Holds Tracking list for three to five business days. Use Holds Tracking on the Case Number Assignment menu to get further details on the validation failure. A case warning is issued and the case cannot be endorsed for FHA insurance without HOC acknowledgment of the warning. If further processing of the case is necessary, select Other Functions near the top of the HECM Insurance Application Results page and make a selection from the drop-down list.

             ERROR
HECM Insurance Application Processed; Errors Exist
Information entered on the HECM Insurance Application Update page was saved. However, there are errors that must be corrected before processing is successfully completed. On the HECM Insurance Application Update page, click Review Error(s) to go to the Error(s) Detected field in the Details section near the bottom of the page. An explanation of the error is provided. The field that directly relates to the error is highlighted. Add or correct the information specified in the Error(s) Detected field. After the correction is made, submit again for processing.

             ERROR
HECM Insurance Application Not Processed Due to Error(s)
On the HECM Insurance Application Update page, click Review Error(s) to go to the Error(s) Detected field in the Details section near the bottom of the page. An explanation of the error is provided. The field that directly relates to the error is highlighted. Add or correct the information specified in the Error(s) Detected field. After the correction is made, submit again for processing. If further processing of the case is necessary, select Other Functions near the top of the HECM Insurance Application Update page and make a selection from the drop-down list.

             SUCCESS
HECM Insurance Application Successfully Completed
The insurance information has been recorded in HUD's origination system. If further processing of the case is necessary, select Other Functions near the top of the HECM Insurance Application Results page and make a selection from the drop-down list.

Borrower [Coborrower] Found as Claim Default on CAIVRS File
The Credit Alert Verification Reporting System (CAIVRS) has found a claim or default recorded for the borrower or coborrower. Use CAIVRS Authorization on the Case Processing menu to get further details. If the borrower or coborrower has a loan insured by HUD that is currently delinquent or has had a claim paid, contact your HUD Homeownership Center (HOC). If further processing of the case is necessary, select Other Functions near the top of the HECM Insurance Application Results page and make a selection from the drop-down list.

HECM Insurance Application Successfully Completed
Borrower [Coborrower] Found on Multiple Loan File
HUD's origination system has a record of other FHA-insured mortgages with which the borrower or coborrower is associated. Contact your HUD Homeownership Center (HOC). If further processing of the case is necessary, select Other Functions near the top of the HECM Insurance Application Results page and make a selection from the drop-down list.

HECM Insurance Application Successfully Completed
Borrower [Coborrower] is Sanctioned
HUD Headquarters or the Homeownership Center (HOC) imposed a sanction on the borrower or coborrower, such as a suspension, debarment, or limited denial of participation. Contact your HUD Homeownership Center (HOC). If further processing of the case is necessary, select Other Functions near the top of the HECM Insurance Application Results page and make a selection from the drop-down list.

Case Endorsed; Query Only
The case is endorsed for FHA mortgage insurance and information can only be viewed. To view additional information for the same case, select Other Functions near the top of the HECM Insurance Application Results page and make a selection from the drop-down list.

Property Zip Code Disagrees with Condo (Subdivision) Zip Code
The property zip code does not match the FHA's records for the zip code of the PUD or condominium. Use Planned Unit Development or Condominium on the FHA Approval Lists menu to verify the zip code. If further processing of the case is necessary, select Other Functions near the top of the HECM Insurance Application Results page and make a selection from the drop-down list.
