203k Substantial Rehabilitation
Repairs Are Made and Work Is Inspected

Rehabilitation construction must begin within 30 days after the execution of the Rehabilitation Loan Agreement. The work must be completed within the time period stated in the Agreement (not more than six months).

The rehabilitation work is inspected by an FHA-approved inspector. Use Inspectors to find an FHA-approved inspector (and inspector ID). Note: For special instructions on streamline 203k cases, see Mortgagee Letters 2005-19 and 2005-50.

Inspector
Four inspections and a final inspection are permitted (five inspections in all). The inspector completes the Compliance Inspection Report (form HUD-92051) and the Draw Request (form HUD 9746-A). Use Inspector Assignment to assign or reassign an inspector and record compliance inspection information (inspector ID and date).
Funds are released from the Rehabilitation Escrow Account after the work is inspected.
