CAIVRS Coordinator and User Registration
Processing

Complete and submit the CAIVRS Application Coordinator and Standard User Registration form as follows:
  1. In the Application Type field, click the radio button next to Coordinator if you are applying as an Application Coordinator.

    -or-

    Click the radio button next to User, if you are applying as a Standard User.

  2. Type your name and Social Security Number in the fields provided.

  3. Type a six-character password in the Password field. The password is case sensitive and can include numbers and letters. However, the password must contain at least one number and can consist entirely of numbers.

  4. Type the new password again in the Re-enter Password field.

    Note: The password will not be disclosed, so make sure you remember it.

  5. Type your telephone number in the boxes provided in the Phone Number field.

  6. Type your business e-mail address in the Email field.

  7. From the drop-down list in the Agency field, select the Federal agency (and program) with which your lending institution is authorized to do business.

  8. Type the 10-character identifier assigned to your lending institution by the Federal agency (and program) in the Lender ID field. Do not enter any hyphens or spaces. It must match the selection made in the Agency field. If Veterans Affairs was the agency selected, type the first ten characters of the lender ID issued.

  9. Type the last name of your mother, before marriage, in the Mother's Maiden Name field.

  10. Click Send Application. Continue to Reviewing Processing Results.

Reviewing Processing Results

After clicking Send Application on the CAIVRS Application Coordinator and Standard User Registration form, you are notified if processing was successfully completed or if there are errors that need to be corrected before processing can be completed.

Processing Was Successful

If there are no errors:

For an Application Coordinator, the CAIVRS Coordinator Registration Results page appears. A Message field at the top of the page states: CAIVRS Coordinator Registration Accepted for Further Processing.
For a Standard User, the CAIVRS User Registration Results page appears. A Message field at the top of the page states: CAIVRS User Registration Accepted for Further Processing.

Processing Was Unsuccessful

If there is an error, one of the following occurs:

An error message box appears. Click OK to clear the message. Make the correction and process again.

For an Application Coordinator, the CAIVRS Coordinator Registration Results page appears. A Message field at the top of the page states: CAIVRS Coordinator Registration Not Processed Due to Error(s).

 -or-
 For a Standard User, the CAIVRS User Registration Results page appears. A Message field at the top of the page states: CAIVRS User Registration Not Processed Due to Error(s).
 An Error(s) Detected field at the bottom of the page explains the error(s). Click Previous to return to the CAIVRS Application Coordinator and Standard User Registration page and make the correction(s). Information in the Password and Reenter Password fields must be reentered as well.
