FHA Connection
Business Background

An FHA Connection user ID and password are required to sign on to the FHA Connection. An FHA Connection user ID is requested by completing and submitting the Housing Counselor Registration form.

The FHA Connection has the following user types with respect to HUD-approved housing counseling:

When the request for an FHA Connection user ID is approved, a six-character FHA Connection user ID is sent to the counselor via e-mail within approximately 48 hours and by letter within 7 to 10 days. For an Application Coordinator, the letter is sent to the Chief Executive Officer of the housing counseling agency. The agency address recorded in HUD's Housing Counseling System (HCS) is used. For a Standard user, the letter is sent to the address entered on the HUD Certified Housing Counselor Application.

Using the FHA Connection

Sign on to the FHA Connection using the six-character user ID that was issued and the password that was entered on the Housing Counselor Registration form. The FHA Connection main menu appears after successfully signing on. From the FHA Connection main menu page, you can do the following:

Note: The FHA Connection user ID is a unique identification number assigned to a specific individual. Sharing the ID is prohibited.
