and submit the Housing Counselor
Registration form as follows:
- If
you passed the HUD Housing Counseling Certification Examination,
select Yes in the Are you a counselor that has passed the certification exam? field.
-or-
Leave this field blank if you are designated as an FHA Connection Application Coordinator for
a HUD-approved housing counseling and are registering as an Application Coordinator only.
- If
you have been designated as an FHA Connection Application Coordinator
by your employer, select Yes in the
Have you been assigned as an FHA Connection Application Coordinator
for the housing counseling agency that employs you? field. Then, type the HUD Housing Counseling System
(HCS) ID issued to the agency in the If
yes, please enter your agency ID field. The first digit is "8"
or "9" followed by a unique four-digit number. You can click the Search the map online link to find your agency's name and ID.
-or-
If you are
not registering as an FHA Connection Application Coordinator, leave
these fields blank.
- Type your name, Social Security
Number, and telephone number in the fields provided.
- Type
your office e-mail address in the E-mail
Address field.
- Type your office e-mail address
again in the Re-enter E-mail Address for
Verification field.
- Type an 8-character password in the Password field. The password is case sensitive and must include at least one uppercase letter, one number, and one special character (e.g., !@#$^&*%). Here is an example: Me#1User.
- Type the password again in the Re-enter
Password for Verification field.
Note: The
password will not be disclosed, so be sure to remember it.
- Type
the last name of your mother, before marriage, in the Mother's
Maiden Name field.
- Click Send.

Reviewing Processing Results
After clicking Send on the Housing Counselor Registration
form, you are notified if processing was successfully
completed or if there are errors that need to be
corrected before processing can be completed.
Processing Was Successful
If there are no errors, the
Housing Counselor Registration Results page appears. A message at the top of the page states:
Housing Counselor Registration Accepted for Further Processing.
You Should Receive an Email after 6:00 PM Eastern Time Informing You
If an FHA Connection User ID Was Issued. If Accepted, You Will Receive
Your FHA Connection ID in the Mail within 7-10 Business Days.
FHA Connection user ID information is sent to the e-mail address entered
on the Housing Counselor Registration form. For a counselor, the business address entered on the HUD Certified Housing Counselor Application is used for regular mail. For an
Application Coordinator, a letter is mailed to the Chief Executive Officer
of the housing counseling agency. The agency address recorded in HUD's
Housing Counseling System (HCS) is used.
Processing Was Unsuccessful
If there is an error, one of the following
occurs:

error message box appears. Click OK
to clear the message. Make the correction and process again. |
| • | The
Housing Counselor Registration
Results page appears. An error message
at the top of the page states: Housing Counselor Registration
Not Processed Due to Error(s). An Error(s)
Detected field at the bottom of the page
(Details
section) explains the error(s). Click Previous
to return to the Housing Counselor
Registration page and make the correction(s).
Information in the Password and Re-enter
Password fields must be reentered as well. |
