Detected field in the Details section
near the bottom of the page. An explanation of the error is provided. The field
that directly relates to the error is highlighted. Add or correct the information
specified in the Error(s) Detected field. Then,

case, if there is a mismatch of the property address between the old and new cases,
you will need to call HUD's Support Service Center at the phone number provided.
- For a prior Real Estate Owned (REO)
case, if the old case number does not exist, it is either (a) an incorrect case
number, (b) not an REO, or (c) the information in HUD's origination system needs
to be updated. Contact the HUD Homeownership Center.
- If multiple
cities and/or county codes exist for the zip code entered, select the appropriate
city/county code from the drop-down lists provided.

ERROR |
Request
Placed on Hold Pending HOC Processing |
The
request is placed on hold because (a) intervention by HUD's Homeownership Center
(HOC) is needed or (b) the name, Social Security Number, and birth date combination
of one or more borrowers is being validated against government records. Click
Review Error(s) to go to the Error(s)
Detected field in the Details section
near the bottom of the page. The Error(s) Detected
field will indicate that there is a duplicate address, that the HOC is holding
the case for lender review, or the case is being held for borrower validation.
After a 24-hour waiting period, during which the HOC will review the case, use
Holds Tracking
on the Case Number Assignment menu to determine
the case status.
A duplicate address indicates that: - A
request has already been made for a case number assignment for the same address.
The request may have been made by your lending institution or another lender.
Use Case Query on the Case
Processing menu to determine the originating lender. If your lending institution
is the originator, verify the property address submitted and wait for HOC processing
of the case. If another lending institution is recorded as the originator, the
case can be transferred by the originator or sponsor using Case
Transfer on the Case Processing menu.
- For a prior Real Estate Owned (REO) case, this indicates the
property address matches and the old case number exists in HUD's origination system.
The new case is placed on hold pending HOC processing.
