Case Query is used to determine the current status of an FHA case as it progresses towards insurance endorsement. View-only details are provided, including mortgage loan, appraisal, closing, upfront mortgage insurance premium (MIP), insurance, and general case information. It also contains the date and description of the last case activity. >Lenders can view their own cases as well as cases they may be acquiring. However, Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) cases can only be viewed by the originator/sponsor of the loan or an FHA-approved servicer of single family loans. You can request a case by FHA case number or by property address, borrower name, or borrower SSN/TIN within the territory of a specified HUD field office. Therefore, Case Query can also be used to look up a case's FHA case number if it is not known.
A case is archived thirteen months after insurance endorsement. If a case you would like to view is archived, you can process a request online to have it restored (unarchived). It is available for viewing the next business day. When the monthly archive process is run, the case is archived again.
You can access Case Query through the following sequence of FHA Connection links: Single Family FHA, Single Family Origination, Case Processing, and Case Query.
