The monthly Pending Case Cancellation Report provides a list of a lender's cases that are scheduled to be canceled unless further action is taken. Any non-endorsed case for which there is no activity for six months since the last action is automatically canceled. However, if upfront mortgage insurance premium was received by HUD, the case is automatically canceled after 18 months of inactivity. The "last action" for a case can include one of the following:
The "last action" for a case does not include an update to borrower or property information. In order to prevent the case from being canceled, the lender must perform an action that moves the case forward to endorsement (e.g., process Appraisal Logging or Insurance Application).
The scheduled cancellation date is computed as the second Friday of the following month. For example, if the report is generated in May, the scheduled cancellation date is the second Friday of June. The last three monthly Pending Case Cancellation Reports generated for the lender are retained on the FHA Connection. The reports are accessed through the Case Cancellation Report function on the Origination Reports menu. In order to use this function, the user must have FHA Connection authorization for CHUMS Origination/Escrow Closeout Reports.
