Application Coordinator Registration
Processing

To apply for an FHA Connection user ID as an Application Coordinator, process Application Coordinator Registration using this basic procedure:

Enter applicant information
Enter Lender Electronic Assessment Portal (LEAP) access request, if applicable
Enter the lender ID or service bureau ID
Choose the:
 -Title II applications for which you are requesting access for a Title II lender
  -and/or-
 -Title I applications for which you are requesting access for a Title I lender
  -or-
 -Title II/I applications for which you are requesting access for a service bureau
Review processing results

One registration form can include both a Title II lender and a Title I lender. It cannot include both a lender and a service bureau. One registration form can be used for a service bureau that does business for both a Title II lender and a Title I lender.

Entering Applicant Information

  1. On the Application Coordinator Registration page, type your name, Social Security Number, organization name, and telephone number in the fields provided.

  2. Type your office e-mail address in the E-mail Address field.

  3. Type your office e-mail address again in the Re-enter E-mail Address for Verification field.

  4. Type an 8-character password in the Password field. The password is case sensitive and must include at least one uppercase letter, one number, and one special character (e.g., !@#$^&*%). Here is an example: Me#1User.

  5. Type the new password again in the Re-enter Password for Verification field.

    Note: The password will not be disclosed, so make sure you remember it.

  6. Type the last name of your mother, before marriage, in the Mother's Maiden Name field. Continue to Entering the FHA ID for the Lender or Service Bureau.

Requesting Access to Lender Electronic Assessment Portal (LEAP)

Authorization to access Lender Electronic Assessment Portal (LEAP) applications applies to both Title I and Title II lender IDs. Service bureaus are not given access to LEAP.

Click the box next to the LEAP application to select it. A check mark appears when a selection is made. Continue to Entering the Lender ID or Service Bureau ID.

Entering the Lender ID or Service Bureau ID

When an organization is approved for participation in Federal Housing Administration (FHA) programs, it is assigned a unique ID. Enter the ID for a Title I lender and/or a Title II lender, or a service bureau as follows:

Type the ten-character ID for the Title II lender in the Title II Lender ID field. Continue to Requesting Access to Title II Applications.

-and/or-

Type the ten-character ID for the Title I lender in the Title I Lender ID field. (This field is located in the lower portion of the page.) Continue to Requesting Access to Title I Applications.

-or-

Type the five-character ID for the service bureau that services a Title I and/or Title II lender in the Service Bureau field. Continue to Requesting Access to Title I/II Applications for a Service Bureau.

Note: For FHA-approved multifamily lenders, an applicant registering to use a HUD multifamily system must enter the unique ten-character FHA ID of the lender in the Title II Lender ID field of the registration form.

Requesting Access to Title II Applications

Title II applications are located below the Title II Lender ID field. FHA Connection access to applications of these HUD systems can be requested for a Title II lender: CHUMS (including the Credit Alert Verification Reporting System), Monthly Premiums, Mortgage Record Changes, Claims Processing, Upfront Premiums, Neighborhood Watch, Multifamily Delinquency and Default Reporting System, Multifamily Applications, Physical Assessment Subsystem, Development Application Processing System, eLOCCS - Line of Credit Control Subsystem, Active Partners Performance System, Capital Needs Assessment, FHA Subsidiary Ledger, Application Submission and Processing System, and Loan Review System. An explanation of these systems and their applications is provided in the Application Coordinator Registration Page - Field Descriptions.

  1. Make the appropriate selections for access to the Title II applications on the FHA Connection available to Title II lenders. Click the box next to the application to select it. A check mark appears when a selection is made.

    Note: For some of the CHUMS applications, select the access rights (Add/Update, Query, or Not Authorized) by clicking the appropriate radio button.

  2. Click Send. Continue to Reviewing Processing Results.

Requesting Access to Title I Applications

Title I applications are located below the Title I Lender ID field. FHA Connection access to applications of these HUD systems can be requested for a Title I lender: Title I [Insurance and Claims System], Credit Alert Verification Reporting System, and Neighborhood Watch. An explanation of these systems and their applications is provided in the Application Coordinator Registration Page - Field Descriptions.

  1. Make the appropriate selections for access to the Title I applications on the FHA Connection available to Title I lenders. Click the box next to the application to select it. A check mark appears when a selection is made.

  2. Click Send. Continue to Reviewing Processing Results.

Requesting Access to Title II/I Applications for a Service Bureau

A service bureau can only request access to the Title II Monthly Premiums applications and/or the Title I Insurance and Claims System applications. An explanation of these systems and their applications is provided in the Application Coordinator Registration Page - Field Descriptions.

  1. Make the appropriate selections for the Title II Monthly Premiums applications.

    -and/or

    Make the appropriate selections for the Title I applications.

  2. Click Send. Continue to Reviewing Processing Results.

Reviewing Processing Results

After clicking Send on the Application Coordinator Registration page, you are notified if processing was successfully completed or if there are errors that need to be corrected before processing can be completed.

Processing Was Successful

If there are no errors, the Application Coordinator Registration Results page appears. A Message field at the top of the page states: Application Coordinator Registration Accepted for Further Processing

Processing Was Unsuccessful

If there is an error, the Application Coordinator Registration Results page appears. A Message field at the top of the page states: Application Coordinator Registration Not Processed Due to Error(s) An Error(s) Detected field at the bottom of the page explains the error(s). Click Previous to return to the Application Coordinator Registration page and make the correction(s).

Note: Information in the Password and Reenter Password for Verification fields must be reentered when there is an error in any field.
