Upfront Mortgage Insurance
Premium (UFMIP) Issues |
If an upfront mortgage insurance premium is required
for the case, the calculated amount due must be completely paid
before entering Insurance Application
information. (See Upfront
Premium Collection.)
If
the case is Suspended,
any paid UFMIP is withheld until
the suspension is cleared. |
Any UFMIP
penalties (late and/or interest) due must be paid. |
Discrepancies in
the calculated
UFMIP amount due can be resolved by verifying key
information. |
If
the case is a streamline refinance,
the calculated UFMIP due depends on the unearned
MIP remaining on the old case. |
Note: A case cannot
be endorsed for FHA insurance until seven business days or
more have elapsed since the UFMIP payment was received by HUD's
upfront premium collection system (SFPCS
Upfront) and reported to HUD's Origination system,
CHUMS. (The seven-day waiting
period begins when CHUMS receives
the UFMIP payment information.) Use Case
Query to help determine when the case can be endorsed.
