  Preparing to Use Insurance Application
 
  Requirements  
 

All cases must meet basic requirements before Insurance Application can be successfully processed. Additional requirements may apply depending on case type. (See also Endorsements by LI Lenders, Lender Insurance (LI) Requirements.)

Basic Requirements
bullet
Borrower information must be complete and validated before endorsement.
   
bullet
The mortgage credit analysis is completed and supports loan approval.
   
bullet Underwriter information must comply with HUD business rules. (See Underwriters.)
   
bullet

The property must have a valid street address.

 
bullet
If Address Validation Override was used during case number assignment, validate the correct street address.
 
bullet
For a proposed construction case, replace the lot, block, plat address with a valid address. Use Borrower/Address Change.
 

Additional Requirements

bullet The appraisal, if required, must be performed and recorded in Appraisal Logging. (See WINK, Appraisal Logging.)
   
bullet Upfront mortgage insurance premium (UFMIP), if required, must be paid and have no outstanding late or interest charges. (See Upfront Mortgage Insurance Premium (UFMIP) Issues.)
   
bullet Final compliance inspection, if required, must be performed and recorded in Inspector Assignment.
   
bullet Some cases flagged for property flipping cannot be processed through Insurance Application. Contact the FHA Resource Center at
800-CALLFHA
(800-225-5342) for assistance. (See WINK, Appraisal Logging, Property Flipping.)
   
bullet For a 203(k) Rehabilitation Mortgage Insurance case, Insurance Application cannot be accessed if any of these conditions exist:
  bullet 203k Calculator information is not in synch with Appraisal Logging information.
  bullet An as-is appraisal is required and was not logged.
  bullet Minimum Decision Credit Score for FHA TOTAL Scorecard falls within a different range than 203k Calculator, or either falls below 500.
  bullet 203k Calculator was not completed (applicable to a case assigned a case number on or after October 31, 2016).
