  Tracking Held Cases
  Purpose

Lenders use Holds Tracking to:

bullet
check the status of a Case Number Assignment request that was put on hold. If a case is put on hold, an FHA case number is not assigned until the problem or issue is resolved.

bullet

determine if a case failed overnight validation against the Social Security Administration.

For any of the above situations, you should check Holds Tracking within the next two business days to determine the Holds Tracking status of the case and whether additional action is needed on the case.

Note: If the case passes borrower validation(s) and has no other problems causing the case to be held, it is not included in Holds Tracking.
