Held Due to Unavailable Refinance Information

This occurs for a refinance case if HUD's system for endorsed cases is not responding during Case Number Assignment processing. When access to refinance authorization information is available again, processing of the case number request resumes automatically; no Homeownership Center (HOC) or lender intervention is necessary, and a case number is assigned (provided no other errors are found during processing).

If a case number is assigned, case processing can continue. However, borrower information must be validated overnight against federal government records. The results of the validation are typically available on the business day following assignment of the case number. Failed validations appear in Holds Tracking.
