  "Held" for Borrower Validation

All FHA cases are subject to borrower validation when a new case number is requested through Case Number Assignment and again when/if information is updated using Borrower/Address Change or Insurance Application (or HECM Insurance Application). The required overnight validation with the Social Security Administration (SSA) does not put a case on hold (i.e., processing may continue), however, you can use Holds Tracking to determine if the borrower(s) failed the overnight validation.

To be sure that new borrower information is valid, check Holds Tracking within the next two business days when:

Getting a case number

Updating borrower information on an existing case
